Memorial Day Weekend Camping

We spent the Memorial Day weekend camping up at Cowan Lake State Park. We love going to Cowan, it is one of our favorite camping spots as I have said before. But this was a big test for this park. We have never camped on a holiday weekend before. I have read horror stories from other people stating that they will never camp again on a holiday weekend, that it is just too noisy and crowded. Well Cowan was sold out for that weekend but I was really surprised to notice that it just really wasn't that noisy! For all the dogs, kids and people in general that were staying the weekend is was very peaceful. Now... when you headed over to the putt putt golf, basketball courts etc you really noticed just how noisy and crowded it was! But come dark everyone settled down and it was a nice quiet weekend sitting by the fire in the evening.
We checked out the movie that the park puts on every Saturday night in the summer. Except for a couple of kids parents and the camp hosts we were the only adults there lol! We didn't let it bother us, and just sat back and enjoyed the movie!
On Sunday Dennis went fishing and I thought I would drive to a horse farm that I saw when we pulled in on Friday evening. Well there ended up being a free horse show so I stuck around watched and took some pictures. What beautiful horses!

Amanda's Soccer Game
I was surprised to see how long it has been since I wrote in our blog! So guess I had better start getting caught up! We try our best to get to some of the girls soccer games and it seems like we were so busy this season that we only got to one game each :-( They play again in the fall and hope to get to a few more. The above picture was taken at Amanda's game at the end of May.
