Tuesday September 28th 2004 Whoo Hoo! Got Something Done, Well Kinda!

Well this past weekend we kinda got another item on our list done. Okay... well.. hmm.. kinda got something done. Dennis and I (mostly Dennis) painted the house, outside storage building, outside doors, downspouts and gutters! Guess we can add that to our list of things taken care of! But the outside painting on the house really isn't completed. We still have to do some chaulking on the foundation and then paint the foundation. Then I think the outside will be done. We are trying to get all the outside stuff completed before winter sets in. We own a VERY old house and it needs sooo much work, so we are trying to do some here and some there when we can afford it, in the hopes of getting more $$ out of it when its time to sell. Or at least that is the plan :-) So today I am proudly adding another item to our completed/motovation list!! YEAH!!

Going to try to slip in another small camping trip this weekend. Since we are going to be tent camping and taking advantage of the Cowan Lake Ohio State Parks electric we will be taking an electric heater to ward off that overnight chill. Cowan Lake has a beautiful lake where they allow fishing, boating and sailing. We both love to go there and do some fishing at least once a month even if we don't go camping. Its a great place to get away for a few hours out of the city noise like we have everyday here where we live in Cincinnati Ohio.

Saturday September 18th, 2004 Its Been Awhile!

Wow! I hadn't realized how long it has been since I have posted in this blog. A month today! We have been pretty busy around here of late. But took some time out to go camping at a Ohio state park campground in Fort Loramie Ohio. What a beautiful peaceful spot. Great for fishing too!



We have started cleaning out the basement but haven't gotten far at all. With Dennis back to working Saturdays most of the time it has cut back on our cleaning out projects. We do have 1 wall in 1 room of the basement cleared out so it can get painted and dry locked. Only 7 more walls to go LOL! Dennis pointed out however that most of the items that were against the 1 wall that is cleared out went outside to the storage building outside. Hmm, guess we didn't get rid of as much as we thought!


We were able to sell our huge walnut desk that we have had forever! Two young kids from up north came down and moved the darn thing from our second floor. That was a job! We used the money to put towards paying off our mortgage. Otherwise we have only been selling a few little things here and there like paperback books and some Christmas decorations. I know I have said this before but its amazing what we have accumulated in 20 years! It is going to take us a lot longer to get rid of all of this "stuff" then we first thought.


I am in the process of reading another rv type book called At Your Own Pace by Bernice Beard which is pretty interesting and also has alot of info towards the end of the book. We headed up north yesterday to a Rv show and got a chance to look at over 200 new 2005 rv models! We ended up looking at so many that we pretty much got confused as to what we liked and what we didn't LOL! We came home with about 100 booklets so I guess we have a lot of reading to do!
