Again due to yucky weather we haven't been able to get outside much and tour around our home town :-( But we have been able to go to one of Amanda's Ropin Rockets performances which we really enjoyed. I can't wait to get to another one!
We have also added a little buddy to our extended family which is names Brutus. He belongs to my cousin Dave and we are all already in love with him. Except our dog Katie who wasn't real thrilled with the new member! LOL. This past Saturday we spent the evening at my aunt and uncles watching the University of Cincinnati and the University of Kentucky play in the NCAA basketball tournament. Our team lost :-( but it was fun to get together with everyone. We really hadn't gotten together since Super Bowl Sunday. Can you tell our family are sports nuts?
We did spend one day working on the basement again. We got more and more garbage out until Dennis finally said, "Sharon, I am not putting out anymore garbage this week! We will have to hold some of this until next week" It was pretty bad lol
I also went thru boxes of items that I even forgotten that I had. I was able to get thru a few boxes and but them on Ebay to sell. And for a pretty good price I might add!
I am hoping to get better and better on Ebay and use it to make extra $4 when we are on the road. The only thing that hurts so much is their darn fees. Its hard for a smaller person/company to make much money. But I am working hard on it!
That is about all the news from here. It is suppose to rain on and off most of this week and weekend which might mess up our Go Racing weekend at Florence Speedway. Hopefully the rain will move west of us!

And Another Picture!

Kentucky's Kincaid Lake

Finally we have been able to get outside and do a little local touring! Between the weather and hospital visits (long story) we are both at least healthy enough to get out of the house! Today ended up being a decent weather day and Dennis has been itching to go and check out a state park in Kentucky. Its called Kincaid State Park and it on the outskirts of Falmouth Kentucky in the northern region of Kentucky. Its about 50 miles from where we live so we thought it would be a nice Sunday drive. So we packed up a lunch and our dog Katie and off we went!
We drove south on state route 27 thru Alexandria Kentucky which houses Northern Kentucky University and your usual stores, restaurants that you see in a mid size college city. The farther south, the farther out of the city life we went and saw more of the country style of living. Sometimes living the the larger city of Cincinnati I forget just how close we were are to slower kind of lifestyle the surrounds us with just a short drive in all directions.
The road leading up to Kincaid Lake was a long and winding two lane road with a huge, and I mean a huge mountainous hill! I would personally hate to even think about trying to live here in the winter time! As usual the first place we like to check out is the campground since we are looking for great camping spots! I have always thought that maybe wintertime is not the best time to get a really good impression on how a lake, campground etc would look come spring time and that was the outcome here. The campground has 84 sites which look like most are with electric and water, picnic tables and a fire ring. Some seem a little closer together then some of the parks we have camped at recently. Even tho it was still winter I can imagine come spring time that even tho some sites are close together that they are nice and shady. Huge trees line the campground which will come in handy for hot summer days.
On to other parts of the park. We noticed a nice picnic area which actually isn't too far from the campground at all. You can drive right down to the lake and choose a nice spot to eat. Also in that area is a small playground. Within a very short walking distance is a nice sized swimming pool right on the lake.
The park was smaller then we thought it would be, but would be nice for a weekend stay. I think people with larger RVs might have a problem since most of the sites are smaller and don't have the longer camping pads.
It sure felt nice to get out and enjoy the sunny day. Can't wait for spring to arrive so we can get out and do this more often! We are keeping our fingers crossed that the gas prices don't go up like they are saying they will or this will limit even our local traveling.
