Campground Review: Winton Woods Campground Cincinnati Ohio
We have stayed at this campground several times, mainly for convience sake. It is only 7 miles or so from our house :-) The park is leased from the federal government by Hamilton County and has grown to over 2400 acres, and what a beautiful urban park it is! There is so much to see and do here! Everything from a boat harbor, Parkys education park, wet and wild water park, horse rides, campground, picnic area and golf!
The campground is within walking distance of the harbor area which rents fishing boats with or without motors, and this year have added pontoon boats rentals also. There is a fully stock harbor store for all your fishing needs. And don't forget to take the kids out on the paddle boats! There is also harbor lake boat tours! During summer months around the pavillion area there is a snack bar and a wet and wild play area for children, which included a changing area and also restrooms. The restrooms when we were there were very clean and have been updated.
The 100 site campground is mostly shaded with huge pine trees. 10 sites include water and 50 amp hookups. 80 of the sites have 30 amp hookup. Sites on the B loop are all lakeside and campers are allowed to fish right behind there site. There is also a dock area inside the campground for campers only to fish from.
All sites have a picnic table, fire ring, gravel driveways. The premises has a heated showerhouse and laundry facilities, a very small camp store and does have a public dump station that is free for paid campers. Even tho most of the activities are outside of the campground (most within walking distance) there is a playground area inside the premises. There is also 10 rental cabins for rent on a daily basis. Both campground and cabins fill up quickly on weekends and holidays!
